Manchester City join the race to sign former United striker Rossi

BARCELONA and JUVENTUS head the queue of clubs keen to land the Villarreal star, 24, (left) but the Eastlands big spenders are now in the frame. Hotline understands City will offer around £18million – but the Spaniards rate Rossi at around £30m and will stick to their guns.
However, City would be willing to add first-team fringe players into the equation in a bid to try and push a deal through.

Barcelona remains Rossi’s first choice although they are also unwilling to go above £18m.
Juve are believed to be ready to spend higher than Barca or City, but the Italian side cannot offer Champions League football.SPURS were keen in January but have been priced out of a move.
Meanwhile, Nedum Onuoha is ready to snub a £6m switch to Sunderland to battle for his place at City.

He spent last season on loan at the Black Cats and Steve Bruce wants to him permanently. But Onuoha, 24, has told pals he wants to try and win over Roberto Mancini. A product of City’s Academy, Onuoha (right) made his debut at 17 but injuries have hampered his progress.

His decision to stay is a brave one with Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards, Pablo Zabaleta and the suspended Kolo Toure already competing for his defensive positions.
